Serving Clients Through Technology
In the practice of litigation there are only two places you can be as far as technology is concerned: on the cutting edge or lagging behind the competition. We are committed to being on the forefront, arming our attorneys and legal staff with state-of-the-art technology so that information can be shared seamlessly and at a moment’s notice when needed. We integrate the latest technology into our practice at every level, including substantial investments in programming proprietary custom applications to better serve the needs of our clients, attorneys, and staff. These systems and best practices provide us with a competitive advantage and can substantially decrease costs and increase efficiency in case management.
Our IT Department regularly evaluates the latest products in the marketplace to ensure that we are updating our software as technology advances. All users on the wide area network (WAN) use the most up-to-date Microsoft Windows professional operating system. Local and broadband networks, supporting both voice and data, allow staff, offices, and clients to seamlessly share information. Each user's computer includes major software applications for email, document management, word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint. We also maintain depositions in electronic format for search capabilities at trial.
Our attorneys can reach the computer network from any internet-accessible location worldwide to access email and client documents, perform legal research, and use other tools necessary to work effectively. Our system also includes support for PDAs. Internet-based video conferencing (TC/IP) allows clients and attorneys to lower travel-related time and expense. In addition, we augmented our accounting system to better serve clients with 24/7 access to financial and account information.
Managing Documents Helps Lower Costs
Indexing documents in the network can substantially decrease costs normally incurred in document-intensive cases. Our IT Department, comprising of highly qualified computer and network experts and litigation support personnel, enhances the firm's service capabilities by training Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell attorneys and staff to take advantage of all that technology can offer to better serve our clients.
