Richard Greenberg Offers CLE for the Innocence Project of Florida
Understanding legal ethics and professional code of conduct can often extend to "non-laywers" who work with lawyers. During a CLE lecture on August 20 to the staff of the Innocence Project of Florida, Richard Greenberg outlined the definition of non-lawyer and the practice of law. He reviewed the Florida Bar rules of professional conduct and ethics opinions regarding what non-lawyers may and may not do when:
- Interviewing clients and potential clients
- Listing their names on business cards and letterheads
- Filing documents for lawyers
The Innocence Project of Florida is a an IRS-certified 501(c)(3), non-profit organization founded in January 2003 to help innocent prisoners in Florida obtain their freedom and rebuild their lives.
