Associate Life: Making Time to Volunteer

Kathleen Shea is the Vice-Chair of the Pace Center for Girls Orange Young Professionals Board. Pace provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training and advocacy.

Each year the board hosts the “Believing in Girls” fundraiser. The event this year was held as a hybrid event with limited attendance in person at the Citrus Club and virtual attendees as well. Money raised during the event will provide technology access and equipment, PPE and food/basic necessities as the pandemic has highlighted the barriers that some girls face, specifically not having Wi-Fi or computers to attend school virtually.

Shenele Pettis Bright serves on the Young Professionals Board for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida. In March, the group hosted their first event of the year, “Battle of the Brains: A Virtual Trivia Night.” Several RK team members participated to show off their trivia knowledge from pop culture to local history while in the event to show off their trivia knowledge while supporting the thousands of families who turn to one of the three Orlando Houses each year.

Thank you both for making time in your busy schedules to serve the community and make an impact on issues that are meaningful to you.
