Miami, FL – October 23, 2018–Monica Segura, a partner in the Miami office of RumbergerKirk, will serve as the Magistrate for the Town of Miami Lakes. In her role, she will work with Town Attorney, Lorenzo Cobiella, Town staff, and residents to ensure the Code of Miami Lakes is adhered to.
“I am thrilled at the opportunity to serve the community and remain neutral among parties while finding a fair resolution while keeping in mind the Town’s building code. It is a great honor to serve as a Magistrate for the Town,” said Segura.
Segura practices in the areas of construction law, casualty litigation and insurance coverage. She participated extensively in the defense of contractors and developers in state and federal Chinese drywall litigation. She has defended general contractors, subcontractors, and developers against multi-million dollar construction defect claims by individual homeowners and homeowners associations, as well as issues that arise in commercial developments. Her practice also includes the handling of First Party Litigation and the defense of insurers.
Miami Lakes, which was incorporated 18 years ago, is one of the youngest in Miami-Dade County and has a history of careful and precise planning.
