Fifteen Years Strong: Chase Hattaway on Lessons Learned and Looking Ahead

For 15 years, Chase has built a fulfilling career at RumbergerKirk—first drawn by the firm’s reputation for trial work, but ultimately staying because of the people.
“It was the people that solidified my decision to join RumbergerKirk, and it’s the people who have kept me here,” he said.
Among his many professional experiences, one of his most treasured memories is his very first trial as a young associate. The mix of excitement and nerves, the long hours of preparation, and the client’s happiness with the result made it unforgettable. “While I was far from perfect, it was a great learning experience,” he recalls.
Looking back, he offers simple but valuable advice for younger lawyers: “Don’t be afraid to embrace new challenges. Every case, every client, every experience teaches you something that will make you a better lawyer.”
He reflects on how attorneys, staff, and colleagues have made the firm not just a place to practice law, but a place to grow. Over the years, his role has evolved significantly. Recently, he stepped into the position of Administrative Partner for the Orlando office—a challenge he finds both exciting and meaningful. “I feel like I can truly help the firm move forward,” he says.
Outside the office, Chase enjoys spending time with his family and traveling to national parks, and colleagues may be surprised to learn that as a kid, Chase went everywhere from the Grand Canyon to Yellowstone. Now, he hopes to continue his family’s tradition of big summer trips to the nation’s treasured parks with his family.
Chase is energized by what’s ahead. “RumbergerKirk has a rich history, but the firm’s future is what truly excites me. We have a solid foundation upon which to build, and the lawyers and staff to deliver exceptional results for our clients.”
