RumbergerKirk Attorneys Sharpen Trial Skills at MDFAWL Workshop

Standing before a room of judges and seasoned litigators, RumbergerKirk associates put their advocacy skills to the test during the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers’ 14th Annual Trial Skills Workshop on February 19-20, 2026.
Daniella Escobio and Isadora Sadler participated in a two-day intensive, hands-on trial training experience focused on refining courtroom advocacy through real-time practice, constructive critique and direct engagement with experienced members of the judiciary.
Following the first day of virtual lectures, discussion and demonstrations, participants presented segments of trial proceedings in a live courtroom environment. Each exercise was followed by individualized feedback from circuit court judges and seasoned trial attorneys, allowing participants to adjust strategy, improve delivery, and strengthen courtroom presence.
“Being in the courtroom setting and presenting arguments before a judge made the experience feel very realistic and helped recreate the pressure and structure of an actual trial, but without the adversarial nature of a hearing.”

RumbergerKirk partner Gigi Cordova supported the program by volunteering alongside the judges and a mock witness during the exercises, helping create a realistic and productive learning environment.
“One of the most valuable parts was interacting with the judges and hearing directly how they evaluate arguments and what they look for in effective advocacy,” shared Isadora. “Receiving immediate feedback from experienced judges and trial attorneys made it a great learning experience.”
Participating in workshops like these help attorneys sharpen their legal skills and build confidence while also providing CLE credit. In addition, participants had the opportunity to engage with members of the South Florida bench and bar, including Judge Migna Sanchez-Llorens and Judge Bronwyn Miller.
Most importantly, the experience allowed participating attorneys to practice, adjust and elevate their advocacy skills in a focused and supportive setting.
