Another successful week is in the books as we wrap up Week 3 of the summer associate program!
The week kicked off with a deep dive into deposition prep, as I had the opportunity to assist partner Rob Blank with research ahead of an upcoming deposition. I loved being part of the process and was especially excited to sit in on the deposition preparation session—a first for me! Watching it all come together the next day during the deposition, and seeing my research in action, was a great hands-on learning experience.
Tuesday brought one of the most engaging events of the week: our deposition workshop. All of the summer associates participated in mock depositions, and everyone did an incredible job. Partner David Marsey gave us helpful feedback and was encouraging throughout the entire process. It was a great exercise that blended performance with practical legal skills—and definitely one of the week’s highlights! Shoutout to associate Alex Melvin for being a great deponent for all six of us!
Midweek, I shifted gears to tackle a new research assignment from associate Gabriele Bodanza. This one involved a recently amended Florida Rule of Civil Procedure, which was a new and interesting challenge. Conveniently, Thursday took me to a client presentation focused on those very same amended rules. The presentation was both informative and timely, and the afternoon was made even better by good company and a great lunch.
I wrapped up the week with a quiet but productive Friday, finishing up some assignments and diving into preparation for the summer associate writing competition.
Each week seems to top the last, and I can’t wait to see what Week 4 brings!
