As the summer wraps up, it’s hard to believe how quickly the time has flown by. We have officially made it through the mock trial, and I can honestly say that I am sad its coming to an end. Leading up to it I was anxious that I wasn’t prepared enough and didn’t know what I was doing, but once I stood up and started talking in the courtroom it just felt natural and comfortable. I was able to respond in the moment, think clearly, and anticipate what was happening in the courtroom. That experience showed me something important. I can do this. I can stand up and advocate, and I enjoy it! I left the mock trial feeling encouraged and motivated to keep building those skills.

The mock trial was not only a valuable learning experience, but also a genuinely fun and memorable part of the summer. It gave me the chance to apply what I had been working on in a hands-on, dynamic setting, and I found myself energized by the challenge. From collaborating with teammates to crafting arguments and thinking on my feet in real time, every part of the process was engaging. Even with the pressure of performing in front of attorneys and partners, there were moments of laughter, creative problem-solving, and real connection with my fellow summer associates. The entire experience aligned perfectly with my personal philosophy that learning doesn’t have to be purely serious, it can also be exciting. In fact, it should be.
Beyond the courtroom, this summer gave me something even more valuable: connection. I had the chance to learn from attorneys who took the time to teach, to listen, and to share their own paths. I worked alongside other summer associates who became more than just colleagues. They became friends. We supported each other, laughed together, and helped each other through these new experiences. This summer has been a foundation for everything that comes next. I’m walking away with new skills, new confidence, and a deep sense of gratitude for the people who made this experience so meaningful. I wouldn’t have wanted to spend this summer anywhere else.
Thank you for everything this summer!
