On May 23, the Sanford Herald published, "In The Wake Of School Shootings, Officials Hold Summit With Safety Suggestions” and spoke with Leonard Dietzen regarding his role as a panelist at the Florida School Security Summit and the impact the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Safety Act has on Florida schools.

Dietzen explains that the summit allowed local leaders to discuss the numerous concerns for school safety by showing off the new technological advancements that could protect schools: entrance cards to open sealed doors, bulletproof glass and more.
