Committed to Community and Professional Excellence: Kathleen Kimball Named OCBA Paralegal Section VP
RumbergerKirk paralegal Kathleen Kimball has stepped into the role of Vice President of the Orange County Bar Association Paralegal Section (OCBAPS).

Kathleen’s path to leadership began while she was living in Volusia/Flagler and serving on the board of the Volusia/Flagler Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). After moving to Orlando in November of 2020, Kathleen stepped in to serve as the President of the Central Florida ACLU which included Orange, Seminole, Lake and Osceola Counties. It was the largest chapter in Florida before the dissolution of the chapter.
When she began working for RumbergerKirk in 2021, she also joined the OCBA and by 2022 she was serving as the Co-Chair of the OCBA Civil Rights Law Committee. She attended several events and CLEs with the OCBAPS before becoming a board member last year.
Her article, ‘The Personal Injury Paralegal’ was published in the October 2024 issue of The Brief’s, OCBA’s monthly publication. You can read it here: The Briefs Magazine – October 2024 – Orange County Bar Association
This year she will be working closely with the new OCBA Paralegal Section President, Leesa Badley to learn the ropes and is looking forward to the many community service projects they have planned.
“The OCBAPS does a lot of community service projects, many networking social events, several CLEs for paralegals and attorneys, and Briefs articles throughout the year,” Kathleen explained. “We often partner with other local groups like the Central Florida Paralegal Association (CFPA), where I am also a member, and the Young Lawyers Section (YLS).”
OCBAPS is currently running a school supply drive with CFPA and in November they will have a basket brigade with the YLS. OCBAPS also teams up with YLS for the “Wills for Heroes” project.
“I will serve as Co-Chair for the OCBA’s Big Bad Wolf Trials and Civics Teach-Ins this year,” shared Kathleen. “These are subcommittees of OCBA’s Civic Engagement Law Week Committee. We will find legal actors in Orange County to participate in these events monthly at Public Schools throughout Orange County for the 2025-2026 school year,” she explained.
When asked what she enjoys most about participating in these meaningful community service programs, Kathleen said, “I enjoy volunteering with organizations that truly make a difference. Time and again, I’ve seen the Orange County Bar Association and its Paralegal Section turn ideas of service and kindness into meaningful action. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of that effort.”
