RumbergerKirk attorney Craig Alexander has been appointed to the Alabama Bar Exam Drafting Committee, a group formed in response to a September 25, 2024 order by the Supreme Court of Alabama. The order directed the Alabama Board of Examiners on Admission to develop a new three-hour essay examination focused on Alabama law.

The committee is responsible for drafting model questions and accompanying essay answers across three subject areas: civil litigation and evidence, family law, and wills and estates. Alexander is one of two attorneys appointed to draft the “civil litigation and evidence” portion of the new examination.

Alexander brings extensive experience to the role, including 14 years of service as an adjunct professor at the University of Alabama School of Law, where he taught from 2010 to 2024. A seasoned trial attorney, he has had a diverse practice throughout his legal career with the focus on civil litigation and legal ethics. His extensive background in litigation positions him well to support the state’s efforts to strengthen the bar examination and ensure that new lawyers demonstrate a solid understanding of Alabama law.
