From New Hire to Go-To: Patrick Delaney Hits 10-Year Milestone with RumbergerKirk
When Patrick Delaney joined RumbergerKirk 10 years ago, he was ready for a change. After practicing criminal law, he was looking to transition into civil litigation and knew finding the right firm would be key. When the opportunity with RumbergerKirk came along, everything aligned, and he recognized it as the right place to build his career.

Over the past decade, Patrick’s role has evolved significantly. He began as a young attorney learning from those around him and has since grown into a leader within the firm. Today, he serves as a mentor to newer attorneys and takes seriously the responsibility of upholding what it means to be a RumbergerKirk attorney.
A defining aspect of Patrick’s experience has been the firm’s collaborative culture. He values the team-oriented environment where colleagues support one another through both wins and challenges. When asked what he enjoys the most about working at RumbergerKirk, he replied, “The fact that this is a team. We win and lose together and support each other along the way.”
That culture has played an important role in his professional growth, allowing him to develop his skills while maintaining a strong focus on ethics and client service.
“Success isn’t just about the outcome. It’s about whether the client feels supported and chooses to trust you again,” Patrick shared. “The focus is on doing the right thing for the client and delivering work you can stand behind.”
Throughout his career, Patrick has built strong client relationships, particularly in the automotive space. Among his favorite workplace memories is attending a Harley-Davidson client event in Milwaukee with colleagues, an experience that highlighted the importance of relationships both inside and outside the firm.

Beyond his legal practice, Patrick remains deeply connected to the community. He serves as the Honorary Consul of Ireland in Orlando, supporting Irish citizens and helping strengthen cultural and business ties across Central Florida. He also played a key role in launching Irish Network Orlando, creating a hub for connection and engagement within the Irish community.
In his personal time, Patrick enjoys traveling with his wife and staying connected with friends in South Florida, where they both attended school. He also enjoys spending time with his dogs and crafting cocktails, and he has even had the memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experience of a private Eric Clapton concert.
Patrick often advises new attorneys to approach their careers with a long-term mindset. He encourages them to think of their professional journey as a marathon, not a sprint, and to take intentional steps toward building a lasting career.
Reaching this 10-year milestone is meaningful for Patrick, marking his growth from a new attorney to a leader within the firm. Looking ahead, he is energized by the opportunities that come with change and enjoys watching the next generation of attorneys develop into leaders. As for his own future, Patrick is focused on continuing to grow and build on the strong foundation he has established.
