Last month, Leonard Dietzen, along with a panel of police chiefs, weighed in on several issues regarding the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act during a School Safety Symposium. Dietzen provided an overview of key provisions of the Public Safety Act (Senate Bill 7026) and sat with a panel of experienced professionals to explain what impact the new law may have on agencies across the state. They covered a number of issues such as new rights, responsibilities and requirements which are detailed in the act, model policies and school safety officers.
