Interesting Assignments and Good Food

Week 5

I cannot believe we are halfway through this summer! Last week marked our fifth week working at Rumberger. It really has flown by! Probably because we are staying so busy.

Lunch with the associates!

Overall, week five was a bit more relaxing than the week before since we finished the writing competition. On Monday, we went to grab sushi for lunch with the associates in the office. They wanted to take us out to congratulate Serena and I on finishing our writing competition! It was nice to catch up with everyone. On Tuesday, we got to go out to lunch again, this time to Motek, with the associates, Karen Garcia (Director of Human Resources and Legal Recruitment), and Blanca Aguilera (Miami’s Senior Office Administrator). We started off our week with some tasty food!

I also completed some interesting assignments. One assignment I received was to write notice of removal papers, which is something I had never done before. I found the assignment very fascinating because I was able to apply what I learned in Civil Procedure to the assignment. Sometimes the assignments I work on is something I have never heard of before, so it is always nice to get an assignment where I can apply what I learned in law school. At the end of the week, I had the opportunity to sit in on an expert deposition. It was my job to take notes and provide a summary of the deposition. I love watching expert depositions. I always find them so fascinating. Overall, it was an amazing week, and I cannot wait to see what the next half of this summer holds!
