Rebecca Beers Elected to the Birmingham Bar Association’s Executive Committee
Rebecca Beers will complete her third year as an at-large member of the Executive Committee of the Birmingham Bar Association.
On Friday, December 9, 2022, the Birmingham Bar Association held its annual meeting and elected its 2023 Executive Committee. Marcus M. Maples was elected President of the association. Mr. Maples, a Shareholder of Baker Donelson, has been active with the Birmingham Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama Lawyers Association, and other community organizations. Sharon D. Stuart was elected to serve as President-Elect. Ms. Stuart is a founding partner of Christian & Small LLP and President and Claims Counsel of Attorneys Insurance Mutual. The newly elected Secretary-Treasurer is Ashley R. Peinhardt, a partner at Hare Wynn Newell & Newton LLP. Allison O. Skinner, Deputy General Counsel of Cadence Bank, will serve in the role of Immediate Past President for 2023.
Elected at-large members of the Birmingham Bar Association’s Executive Committee are Robert E. Battle, Rebecca A. Beers, Anna M. Carroll, Pooja Chawla, A. David Fawal, Susan N. Han, Tina Lam, Virginia E. Miller, Ryan Robichaux, Janine L. Smith, and Tripp Watson.
The Birmingham Bar Association is the largest local bar association in Alabama, with membership of approximately 3,200 lawyers, judges and law students. The Association furthers the legal education of our members and the public, facilitates access to justice, provides opportunities for community service and fosters camaraderie, professionalism, integrity and respect among its members.
