A Jury Rendered a Defense Verdict in Favor of Busch Gardens and Awarded no Damages

RumbergerKirk partners Rob Blank and Carie Hall, on behalf of their client Busch Gardens, led the trial team to a defense victory in Roos v. Sea World Parks & Entertainment LLC d/b/a Busch Gardens.

Plaintiff Shelly Roos alleged back, neck and shoulder injuries after a 50-pound, six-foot sunglass display fell on her while inside a gift shop at Busch Gardens during a storm on July 5, 2019. During closing arguments, the Plaintiff’s attorneys asked the jury to award $492,334.02. After just under an hour of deliberations, the jury rendered a defense verdict in the Hillsborough County Circuit Court case.

“Successes like this are the result of a lot of hard work, dedication and teamwork. Our team worked extremely well together to present a strong case on behalf of our client to the jury and I’m thankful for their expertise and professionalism,” said Rob after the trial.

Busch Gardens was represented by Tampa partners Robert Blank and Carie Hall, along with associate Ryan Brown and paralegal Susan McClugage and a strong support team.
