ORLANDO, Fla. – May 18, 2016 – Students from Freedom High School in Orlando participated in a Street Law Program presented by The Law Offices of Suzanne Villa (in-house counsel for Allstate Insurance Company and Allstate Affiliates Encompass and Esurance) and RumbergerKirk (RK) on May 12, 13 and 17, 2016.  The program, which aims to provide students with an overview of relevant legal topics and insight into careers in the legal field, included two days of lessons at Freedom High School, followed by workshops and a job fair at the office of RumbergerKirk.

On May 12 and 13, attorneys and staff from Allstate and RK presented seminars at Freedom High School regarding contracts and advertising law.  Tuesday’s May 17th program at RK provided students with a more in-depth look at these areas, with interactive workshops which included a mock mediation on a contract dispute and a roleplaying scenario in which the students were asked to act as attorneys consulting clients regarding proposed advertisements.

Following the workshops on Tuesday, students were given the opportunity to explore legally-related careers and interact with local professionals at a job fair.  Several Judges of the Ninth Judicial Circuit attended, along with attorneys and other professionals related to the legal industry, such as court reporters, interpreters, insurance adjusters, process servers, and paralegals.  Individuals in administrative fields such as human resources, legal staffing, accounting, marketing, and IT also presented at the job fair.
