Bert Spence, of the firm’s Birmingham office, was quoted in a May 13, 2011 article in the Wall Street Journal titled “Company Lawyers Sniff Out Revenue.” In the article, Bert talks about that companies that are in the practice of bringing lawsuits as a means of bringing in more revenue may get more than they bargain for. He discusses that what may seem like a “slam dunk” case could turn into a long battle and subjecting their executives to depositions and opening the company up to discovery among other time and document intensive legal processes.
