TAMPA, Fla. — RumbergerKirk partner Kari A. Metzger will present the Florida Defense Lawyers Association webinar, “Beyond the Driver: Identifying and Mediating the Additional Layers of a Trucking Case,” on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from noon–1 p.m. ET.
The program will examine the factors beyond driver conduct that can significantly affect the evaluation, defense and resolution of trucking cases. Topics will include federal regulations, electronic evidence, multiple parties, layered insurance coverage, catastrophic damages and the development of jury narratives that may influence settlement value.
Metzger will also address how defense lawyers and insurance professionals can assess these considerations when preparing for mediation, developing realistic case valuations and working with mediators to resolve disputes.
A certified mediator and arbitrator with more than 30 years of experience in civil litigation and dispute resolution, Metzger brings extensive experience in risk assessment, litigation strategy and the resolution of complex disputes. Her practice at RumbergerKirk is devoted to mediation and arbitration, with particular experience in insurance, commercial and business disputes.
