Katherine Becerra was recently installed as a director of the Miami-Dade Bar Young Lawyers Section, stepping into a leadership role focused on mentorship, professional development and service within South Florida’s legal community.

For Katherine, the appointment represents an opportunity to give back to the profession while helping support the next generation of attorneys building their careers in Miami.

“The Young Lawyers Section has always been an important part of our local legal community, and I’m honored to have the opportunity to help shape its direction,” Katherine shared. “I look forward to helping connect members with meaningful pro bono and service opportunities while continuing to support the strong sense of professionalism, mentorship and community the Section is known for.”

Katherine said she is especially excited to support outreach and service initiatives through organizations like Dade Legal Aid and to continue recognizing emerging leaders within the profession through programs such as the YLS 40 Under 40 Awards.

The Miami-Dade Bar Young Lawyers Section provides networking, leadership, mentorship and community service opportunities for young attorneys throughout South Florida, helping foster engagement and professional growth within the legal community.

Katherine was officially installed during the organization’s 110th Annual Installation Gala on May 29, 2026, which featured a Gatsby-era theme celebrating the Section’s longstanding history and leadership tradition.
