Miami Trial Attorney and Partner Greg Palmer is Remembered for his Determination and Adventurous Spirit

Miami, Fla., May 6, 2019 – With sadness, RumbergerKirk confirms the unexpected death of friend and partner, Gregory M. Palmer on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the age of 56. He is survived by his wife Kimberly, and his three sons – Taylor, Thomas and Patrick.

Palmer, who joined the firm in 2003, was a dedicated advocate and counselor to his clients and colleagues. He was Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He represented clients across a broad and diverse range of industries, serving as a leader and mentor within the firm’s aviation law and litigation, construction and product liability practice groups. A result of his uncompromising preparation and determination, Palmer was lauded by the Daily Business Review as one of South Florida’s “Most Effective Litigators.”

Palmer was renowned for his knowledge of the various international treaties and conventions impacting aviation. He lectured extensively on the Warsaw Convention and its progeny. Defending clients against claims arising during international transport, Palmer litigated a variety of issues including complex negligence claims, unlawful restraint allegations, and security-related matters including unlawful search and seizure allegations. Both in and out of the courtroom, he never shied from a challenge. An avid mountain biker, Palmer overcame obstacles to summit some of the most difficult trails – all with the same gusto he brought to his legal work.

“Greg was an extraordinary attorney, colleague and friend,” said Rumberger Managing Partner Frank Sheppard. “He will be remembered for his devotion to all of those he served, and truly missed. We hope the Miami legal community will join us in celebrating his life and supporting his family at this difficult time.”
