Organization Has Provided Compassionate Care and Support to More Than 28,000 Patients in Orange, Seminole and Osceola Counties Since 1990

ORLANDO, Fla. – April 19, 2013 – Frank Sheppard, Managing Partner of RumbergerKirk, has been elected Chairman of the Board for the Hospice of the Comforter Foundation, which supports Hospice of the Comforter, the only nonprofit hospice serving Orange, Seminole and Osceola counties.

Hospice of the Comforter has cared for more than 28,000 patients and their families with physical, emotional and spiritual support since 1990 and has provided more than $400,000 in care over the past year to those uninsured and under-insured.

“Hospice of the Comforter is dedicated to keeping patients where they are most comfortable, whether it is at home, in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or in-patient facilities including our Hospice House (short-term) and Robison Residence (long-term),” said Sheppard. “Hospice enables patients to live in comfort and keep their dignity while surrounded by family, friends and a Hospice Care Team.”

Hospice House is Central Florida’s only free-standing hospice facility in Central Florida, staffed 24/7 with 16 private suites and bathroom with access to a lanai and outdoor garden, furnished and decorated to provide a peaceful, home-like environment for both patients and visitors. Patients are evaluated on an ongoing basis to ensure they meet the criteria to continue receiving hospice care.
