Rumberger Gives Back: Team Members Serve Dinner at the Coalition for the Homeless

RK staff served dinner at both the Coalition for the Homeless Center for Women and Families and the Men’s Service Center this month. The firm also gave gift bags filled with toiletries, candy and a pre-packaged snack to everyone who attended the dinner service.

To supply the gift bags, the firm collects hotel toiletries throughout the year, leftover Halloween candy and pre-packaged snacks during the firm’s Thanksgiving feast. In the past, the firm has provided toys and kitchen needs.

“We first adopted the Coalition for the Homeless in 2009 as part of our Holiday Adoptions program,” said Iris Melgar who handles payroll and profit sharing at the firm, and started the adoptions program in 2002. “We wanted to find a way to help those in need in our community. In addition to helping with the Coalition, we’ve also assisted a number of other organizations throughout the year including Hospice of the Comforter, MD Anderson Cancer Center and Christian Services Center,” said Iris.

Special thanks to this year’s servers:
Center for Women and Families Dinner: Kim Smith, Laurie Mesa and her husband John, Lindy Keown, Eva Moeller, Debbie Hrytzay, Cindy Bowers, Pat Quilty and Bud Kirk.

Men’s Service Center Dinner: Sally Culley, Nancy Jordahl, Brittney Bogan,
Sharon Ostrowski, Ellen Smith, Rita Ritner, Iris Melgar along with two of her family members.

Also, a huge thank you for everyone who donated gift bag items and money to help make the dinner a reality.
