RumbergerKirk Attorneys Visit FSU to Talk with Students About a Career in Law

RumbergerKirk attorneys Nicole Smith, Jeffrey Grosholz and Kayla Platt Rady talked with FSU students considering a career as a litigation attorney during a “Lunch and Learn” session hosted by the FSU Law Career Services and Professional Development Offices on Tuesday, March 7. They shared what a career in litigation is like both in and out of the courtroom while providing insights in labor and employment, education and class action litigation.

“Litigation is a fulfilling, but challenging career,” said partner Nicole Smith. “Choose a law firm that supports and nurtures you as an individual. You should feel like you have a team behind you every time you go into battle,” she advised.

Jeffrey Grosholz offered these insights. “Litigation is about learning to control what you can. Sometimes that means defending a bad set of facts and getting the best result you can for your client. Sometimes it means dealing with hostile opposing counsel or a judge. Sometimes the law is unfavorable to your position. There will always be circumstances out of your control, so being a litigator requires doing the best you can with what you have.”
