Rumberger’s Rebecca Beers Selected for Alabama State Bar 2015 Leadership Forum

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.– November 25, 2014 – RumbergerKirk is pleased to announce that Rebecca A. Beers, an associate in the firm’s Birmingham office, has been selected as one of 30 lawyers from across Alabama to participate in the Alabama State Bar 2015 Leadership Forum. This highly competitive program has been honored by the American Bar Association as a dynamic and effective model for nurturing and developing leadership skills and values among a select group of qualified, promising lawyers each year.

Beers focuses her practice in the areas of securities litigation and commercial litigation, representing broker-dealers as well as institutional investors in state and federal courts and in FINRA arbitration. She has substantial experience in complex commercial litigation, including class actions, gaming litigation, casualty, and employment matters.

“It has always been important to me to balance my education and my career withservice to and involvement in my greater community,” said Beers. “I look forward to participating in the Leadership Forum where I will strengthen my leadership skills, forge bonds with other lawyers and leaders from across the state, and serve as a catalyst for positive change in my local community and in my state-wide community,” she continued.

Beers is very active in professional, civic and community organizations including the Birmingham Bar Association where she serves on the Executive Board of the Young Lawyers Section and the Grievance Committee. For Birmingham-Southern College, she currently serves as the President of the Birmingham-Southern College Alumni Association and has served on the Young Alumni Council, the Alumni Executive Board and the Edward L. Norton Board of Advisors. She is a member of SIFMA Compliance and Legal Society and was listed in Alabama Super Lawyers 2014 as a “Rising Star” in Securities Litigation.

Beers also currently serves as a member of the Young Supporters Board of the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital. She is a member of the Rotaract Club of Birmingham and the Junior League of Birmingham and volunteers with Better Basics’ Ready2Read program, with Birmingham’s Homeless Experience Legal Protection (HELP) Program, and serves as volunteer co-chair and judge for the Alabama Center for Law and Education’s Teen Court program.
