Linda Edwards Discusses Pay Equity with HR Professionals
The climate for employers is heating up when it comes to pay equity making it a priority to address pay gaps between males and females. Linda Bond Edwards spoke with the Big Bend chapter of the Society of HR Management (SHRM) on Thursday, November 14 to help HR professionals ensure equity between males and females.
Two recommendations she offered included:
- Do not allow past or current compensation to influence future compensation in the hiring process.
- Evaluate current compensation practices to identify gaps between males and females; then make adjustments where necessary to reduce the wage gap and ensure equity.
