Week three brought some of the most varied experiences of the summer so far.
One of the highlights was attending a client meeting involving a construction case. Getting a front-row seat to how attorneys engage with clients and navigate the details of an active matter was a valuable learning experience.
I also worked on a reply and a response in two completely different cases spanning separate areas of the law. The assignments reinforced just how versatile the firm is, and I appreciated the opportunity to work across multiple practice areas at the same time.
Midweek brought the Miami attorneys lunch, which is always a great opportunity to connect with attorneys in the office and hear about the interesting matters they are handling.
I also had the chance to attend a Miami-Dade Legal Aid pro bono event alongside summer associates from firms across Miami. We heard from judges about the importance of pro bono service and the impact it has on the community. It was a meaningful reminder of why many of us chose to pursue a career in law.
To top it all off, I participated in my first mock deposition as part of the Summer Associate Program’s Deposition Workshop. Stepping into the role of the questioning attorney for the first time was both challenging and rewarding, and I look forward to building on what I learned.
If the first three weeks are any indication, the summer is only getting better. I can’t wait to see what week four has in store.
