Week two is in the books, and it did not disappoint.
Before getting into the highlights of the week, I have to introduce my office companions. They may not bill hours, but the two newest members of the team certainly help keep the office looking sharp.
This week brought an incredible amount of hands-on learning. I had the opportunity to attend two depositions, a hearing and a trial, all in the same week. Watching skilled attorneys work in real-time, asking questions, anticipating responses, and adapting on the fly, was one of the most valuable experiences I have had so far this summer.
I also had the opportunity to work directly with a partner on a memorandum assignment, which challenged me to strengthen my research and writing skills in a meaningful way. In addition, I participated in Westlaw training and attended a deposition seminar led by a partner. Both provided valuable insight into the preparation, strategy, and attention to detail that go into effective advocacy.
To wrap up the week, the Miami office hosted a happy hour that gave everyone a chance to connect outside of work. Experiences like that are a reminder that the culture at RumbergerKirk is something special and that the people truly make a difference.
If week one set the tone, week two raised the bar.
