I kicked off the week on a high note by finalizing a motion that was filed in federal court, which was a rewarding way to start the week.
On Tuesday, the summer associates participated in an opening and closing statement seminar led by Rob Blank from the Tampa office. I also had the opportunity to join two partners for lunch, where I learned more about their practice areas and got to know them on a more personal level. During lunch, I received thoughtful and constructive feedback on several of the projects I’ve been working on this summer, which gave me valuable insight into how I can continue improving my legal writing and analysis.
Later that day, I attended an office ice cream social. It was a fun opportunity to take a short break, connect with our administrative professionals and learn more about the important roles they play in supporting the firm.
On Thursday, I traveled to Tampa to prepare for the opening and closing statement workshop. Friday morning began bright and early at the Hillsborough County Courthouse, where we presented our opening and closing arguments based on the case packet we had been assigned. Partners and associates from the Tampa office generously shared thoughtful feedback, making the experience one of the most valuable learning opportunities of the summer.
Afterward, we celebrated with lunch at the Columbia Restaurant, where I enjoyed getting to know attorneys and associates from the Tampa office.
To wrap up the week, I headed to Cocoa Beach on Sunday for an associate get-together. It was a great way to end the week, and I had an absolute blast spending more time with everyone outside the office.
