This week, RumbergerKirk welcomed summer associates from offices across the state. I had the opportunity to meet the summer associates from the Miami and Tampa offices, and it was great getting to know everyone as we began the Summer Associate Program together.
The first two days of the week were focused on orientation and training. While we covered a lot of information, I appreciated how thoughtfully it was presented. The sessions provided a strong foundation for the work ahead. We also enjoyed a summer associate dinner at Sixty Vines and attended a happy hour where we had the chance to meet attorneys from across the firm.
I quickly transitioned from training to substantive legal work. During my first week, I worked on motions in active matters and completed research assignments for partners. One of the things I enjoy most is exploring new areas of law. Even when I am unfamiliar with a topic at the start of an assignment, the process of learning and problem-solving is rewarding. Throughout the week, attorneys were generous with their time and always willing to answer questions, review ideas and help me think through new issues.
Lindsay and I also met our mentors for lunch at Kres Chophouse on Friday. I am excited to work with Taylor Koshak this summer and look forward to learning from her experience and guidance.
We wrapped up the week with a social event at Mathers, which was another great opportunity to connect with attorneys outside the office.
After reviewing the summer schedule and experiencing my first week firsthand, I know I made the right decision in choosing RumbergerKirk. Between the meaningful assignments, mentorship opportunities, social events and upcoming mock trial competition, I am looking forward to everything the summer has in store.
